Reading is a process that begins before you even read the first word, and it continues on after you've read the last word. Think about the process of building a house. It doesn't begin with the first nail you hammer in, but before, when you are planning and preparing. Everyone's reading process is personal and individual, but there are certain common elements all readers follow. The reading process is divided into three stages: Before, During, and After.
